City of Desloge
The City of Desloge offers many recreational opportunities for residents and visitors to enjoy.
In the center of town (at Parkside & Walnut Streets), Desloge City Park, offering a swimming pool, tennis courts, picnic tables, barbeque pits, amphitheater, walking/jogging path, restrooms and playground equipment and full size basketball court. The park is open daily until 10pm October-April and until 11pm May-September.
Desloge City Park offers 6 different pavilions and a gazebo for functions and gatherings. The pavilions can be reserved for the day for a fee of $25, the gazebo can be reserved in 2 hour increments for $25. Reservations must be made in person at Desloge City Hall. Reservations for each calendar year can be made after January 1st.
Desloge City Pool is a great place to cool off during the hot summertime months. The pool season runs from Memorial Day weekend until late August typically, with the pool open on Saturdays when school is still in session and open Monday-Saturday from 12p-5p during summer vacation. Admission to the pool is $2, and there are a variety of concession available for purchase. The pool can be reserved for functions and gatherings in two hour increments Monday - Saturday after 6pm and Sundays after 12:30 for a fee of $75. Reservations must be made in person and paid in full at Desloge City Hall. Reservations for each calendar year can be made after January 1st.
Brightwell Park (at Cedar Street & Brightwell Blvd.) features three baseball diamonds for little to senior league baseball and softball.Brightwell Park's 3 diamonds vary in size to offer a competitive playing experience regardless of skill level or age. Field One is a full size ball field suitable for use by Senior Babe Ruth, Field Two a moderate size ball field suitable for use by Junior Babe Ruth, and Field Three is the smallest of the fields and is suitable for use by Cal Ripken and girl's softball teams. Brightwell Park also has a concession stand and restrooms. The Park's fields are available for reservation for play or practice - please contact City Hall for more information.
Desloge Community Dog Park is located at the corner of East Walnut and South Wilson Street. There are two sections to the park, one for large and the other for small dogs. The park features a pet and human drinking station, several excersize runs and other play equipment for dogs.
